Minarco is a small team lead by two brothers, Michael and Nathan Ramsey, who together have over 25 years of experience in the building game. They started a new venture together for a hands-on building company that focuses on incredible quality for their clients whilst giving them peace of mind.
The MINARCO brand name itself is an abbrevation of Mi (Michael) Na (Nathan) R (Ramsey) Co (Company) which was ultimately what we plucked and pulled apart when developing the brand identity.
The brothers wanted a brand that wasn't going to be your quintessential building logo and was going to be more of a representation of the type of homes and buildings they create and wanted to continue to create.
They wanted to appeal to people who were interested in creating something truly bespoke or with a unique touch. They wanted to be represented as master craftsmen, with a penchant for architecturally designed homes.
We joked with the guys that they didn't know what they wanted until they knew what they didn't want. This is often the case when people can't quite articulate what they want but have something in their minds eye but by telling us what kind of work they wanted to do and how they saw their business moving forward, it was actually a great brief to start with.
Luckily, knowing full well that both brothers needed to be represented in the branding, we developed a design motif the showcase both the M and N of their respective names.
We also wanted to pay homage to the infrastructure and precision that goes into the building trade so we developed a logo that had both a full, finished look and one that showed the structure of the letterforms. This, paired with the colouring presented a strong yet elegant brand that perfectly represents the type of buildings the brothers create.
